Society Employees visit the Pioneer Mine
This last Thursday and Friday, Society employees Samantha Tubbs and Charley Langowski made a site visit to the Pioneer Mine in Ely, Minnesota.
The two day trip consisted of Society employees becoming familiar with the mine and its volunteers. It also included a quick introduction to the Arts and Heritage Center.
From there, Sam and Charley created a starter kit for the museum portion of the mine as well as made recommendations for funding, preservation projects, collections care and management, community involvement, and so on.
If you are ever in Ely, Minnesota during the Pioneer Mine’s open season (summer, early fall)—it is strongly suggested that you stop by and meet these wonderful, and knowledgeable, people.
