Lunch with the History People on June 20, 2019

When: Thursday, June 20, 2019, from noon to 1 PM
Who: In 1985, Roger Hellesvig began to portray Ole Oleson, his great grandfather, at Murphy's Landing living history museum in Shakopee. Roger said that “one of his highlights, while there, was interpreting the immigrant experience at the Wilkie House.” Since then, Roger has shared Ole’s story for schools, museums and Norwegian heritage events.
What: Roger will share “An Immigrant’s Tale.” He will transform into Norwegian immigrant Ole Oleson. Using Ole’s trunk, he will take us back to the mid-1800s. Discover the difficult choices immigrants made in coming to America and the traditions from their homelands that they continue to celebrate. This story appeals to audiences of all ages, so bring the family.
Where: The event will be held in the Ruth Maney Room on the first floor of the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center (the Depot), at 506 West Michigan Street, Duluth, Minnesota.
There will be limited theater-style seating (no tables), but feel free to bring your own bag lunch. Seating is first-come, first-served (no reservations). Admittance to this event is free to the public. ARCO coffee is provided.
