SLCHS Seeks Volunteers to Serve as Lake Superior Ojibwe Gallery Attendants

The St. Louis County Historical Society seeks museum volunteers to serve as Lake Superior Ojibwe Gallery attendants. Volunteers would be responsible for greeting gallery visitors and informing them about the nationally recognized paintings and artifacts that lend insight into Ojibwe culture and the history of the area’s Ojibwe people.

Training will orient volunteer docents to the art, history, and cultural aspects of this exhibit, as well as to the Society’s partnerships with regional tribal entities including Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Bois Forte Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Training materials provided through the American Indian Advisory Committee.

The Lake Superior Ojibwe Gallery is located on the fourth floor of The Depot (St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center), at 506 West Michigan Street, Duluth, MN. Admittance to this exhibit gallery is free to the public.
