Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2019. St. Louis County Historical Society, 506 W. Michigan Street, Duluth, Minnesota, has openings on its Board of Governors. The mission statement of the Society is as follows: The general nature and purpose of the Society shall be the discovery, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge about the history and prehistory of St. Louis County and the State of Minnesota. The Society is seeking applicants from the Duluth area and from greater St. Louis County for service on its Board of Governors. March 26: History in a Pint

Veterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, announces its next event in the local history discussion series, “History in a Pint.” The presentation entitled “The Frozen Chosin” will take place at Carmody Irish Pub and Brewing, and will begin at 5:30 pm on Tuesday March 26th. Robert “Bob” Johnson of Duluth will tell stories of his experiences in the Korean War, sometimes referred to as ‘The Forgotten War.’ As a member of ‘B’ Company Marines, 4th Infantry Battalion, Bob was activated to service, sent to Camp Pendleton and then assigned to the Korean conflict. March 16, 2019, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center (The Depot) Join the St. Louis County Historical Society in celebrating how St. Urho saved the grapes! Toys: The Inside Story

The Duluth Depot is excited to announce the opening of Toys: The Inside Story in the Depot’s Great Hall on Thursday, March 7, 2019. If your parents never let you break open your Etch A Sketch to find out how it works, or if you’ve been wondering how to stop your toddler’s push toy from making an infernal racket, you’ll love Toys: The Inside Story. Visitors to the Duluth Depot will be among the first in the country to see this new Exhibit beginning March 7th and running through April 15th.
