is Participating in the
17th Annual Give to the Max Fundraiser
November 1-20, 2025.
Protecting Our Legacy: Why History Needs You Now
The St. Louis County Historical Society holds over 13,000 unique artifacts, including military service medals, vital pieces of our mining legacy, and irreplaceable Ojibwe cultural items. They are tangible proof of your ancestors' stories and the physical evidence of our regional history.
But collecting history is only half of the battle. Our most urgent mission is the meticulous, behind-the-scenes work of safeguarding and cataloging this vast collection. Every single artifact requires professional documentation and a secure, climate-controlled home to survive. Without this crucial investment, these irreplaceable pieces—the very evidence of our shared story—are tragically vulnerable to loss and deterioration. Time is not on the side of history.
Be the Protector of Our Shared Story
When you donate, you are directly investing in the future of our past. Your support funds the conservation, documentation, and secure housing needed to ensure the stories of your family and community are saved, not lost.
Join us in this critical effort. Invest in preservation today.
Every dollar ensures the stories of St. Louis County are accessible for the next 100 years.
Thank you!
